Article 1 Section 7 Cause 4 of the lawfully ratified Constitution for the Sovereign State of Accompong provides for adopting laws to implement a form of naturalization that is uniformed and acceptable.
WHO ARE THE ACCOMPONG MAROONS?
The Short Version:
Over a period of about eighty years between 1655 and 1738-39, a motley band of a few hundred people in Jamaica engaged in a guerilla war against the British. Their bravery, consummate skill and cunning minds made them so unbeatable that they finally compelled the British government to offer them a peace treaty. These legendary people were the Maroons. The First of the Maroons were the indigenous inhabitants of the Caribbean, named "indians," in error, by Columbus.
It has to be emphasized, that the term "Maroons" and the associated concept of "Marronage" did NOT pre-date the Jamaican Maroons. The Ameridian-African Maroon established themselves in Jamaica in the Spanish period. However, they exercised such important influence over the English in their plan to make Jamaica their greatest sugar colony, that the most important events in the island, the most significant laws, passed, had the Maroons at the centre of them. Maroons therefore became the focus of historians with countless books and articles being written about them.
However, although reference has been made to the long years of guerilla war against the English, the Maroon movement did not start out to make war or to have war made against itself. They simply removed themselves from the influence of the Europeans, to re-create their own lifestyles in other places. As such, they were at first considered to be 'Marrons', a term which was connected to the jewish system of Marronage, which was to practice their traditions (mainly religious ones) in secret. The Tiano Maroons were later joined and superseded by the Africans whom were free negros and whom the Europeans imported into the island as their chattel property (slaves).
Cacique Chief Indigimo Cudjoe (Kojo) a free negro leader in 1738 along with other brave "unsubdued men" won a war and settled the terms of a Treaty of Peace and Friendship with the British Crown to remain in a perfect state of freedom and liberty for ever, namely and respectfully; Sovereign. This is an acknowledgment of the reality of the existence of another force with which the English had never had contact, and which has its roots in the early Tiano and African Maroon society. The first pioneer Maroons are characterized by their behavior through the centuries to present day as the people who would not be enslaved. The Accompong Maroons today are the posterity and heirs of this Noble bloodline and illustrious legacy.
